I think this one is pretty self explanatory. We make connections that can’t or won’t stay, don’t we?

And no matter how unreliable, untenable, unrealistic…..we loved them all the same.💔

In another note, I have always loved crappy tellies way more than their swanky flat screen descendents. As an adult in the 00s I owned one like I describe in the post. I remember when I went travelling leaving it by a skip cause I knew no-one else would want it because it was deemed an old relic.

The image of it, this old tin can of a thing, stood alone by the big skip, still haunts me, actually.

Probably should have put it in storage. I’m a sentimental old sod….

Thank You, My Dear!🙏💖🤣

I have a brand new flat screen that was bought in November of 2009. It was out of the box for less than a month. Then due to funny circumstances put in storage. It sat there for over 10 years. Some friends helped me move into a postage size apartment about five years ago. They were moving so fast at grabbing stuff I didn’t have time to say yes or no on much of anything. Well.....guess what?!? They grabbed the TV. Guess where it’s been this whole time?!? Still in the box! I’ve been trying to think how to get rid of a brand new really old TV. Because in today’s world technology wise it might as well be an old consul from the 60’s. LoL!!!

Your post was about more than TV’s. I got that. However, your comment here reminded me of my dilemma.....a box that just keeps sitting here collecting dust.

Rabbit ears and standing on one foot with one arm part way forward just to get a picture was definitely more fun! That was the closest I got to playing Twister as a kid. (Ha!) Hell.....I can remember when certain areas only had two tv stations. I’ll shut up now......I’m dating myself again and I’m still trying to come up with what I like about my 57 year old aging body!😉🤣

I do miss the old tellies. There’s something grounding about having to get up off your arse a bit more and not having a zillion channels.

I remember black and white ,no colour tv or digital ones.I can remember the black and white minstrels show.Sometimes you had to thump the telly to get a picture on it .Life was a lot easier back then and simpler . Thanks for the memories 🙂 x.

Connections in and out. How easily things can change, from excitement to blah blah blah!

And sometimes we would smack it on the side to try to get a better picture.

I very much get this. Great analogy! It also seems like the farther away the source was, or if the weather was bad, the harder it was to tune in. Then there were the stations that were not on the air all the time, just like people who limit their availability to what suits them.
