Edit: How strange, I called you "Dee". I called you by your surname. Why, why did I do that?
Hmmm🤔, it's true, I think of you as "Dee". Maybe because I know and have known lots of Julies and Julias and Julians but you are the first and only Dee I've ever encountered and I really like the sound of "Dee."
Julia may have once sounded classier because it was more rare but now Julie is more rare, sounds not classier but simply a lot more full of life and joy.
Julie I love this post! I’m an April baby, too. We are born with the fae in us, I think. Your pride is as lyrical as your poetry. There’s an almost ancient feel to your words. Love, love, love this! ✨
Thanks. Yes I saw someone else do it once and it helped me understand them better so started doing it. I add them at the end though just in case they don’t want to know.
So lovely, Julie! The pictures, the poems!! And I love the explanation of what lies behind your writing.
The last one made me think of a song I wrote decades ago that started with:
"I wanna chop off my head
to stop it from thinking
it can think it's way to freedom"
Crazy how the vortex of thought can deter action, which is often the very best thing to get us unstuck- even if it is faking it at first, it at least interrupts the pattern of inertia to spark other possibilities. Have a lovely cuppa and also a happy April birthday to you, sister! 🌷✨💖
Thank you lovely. Yes relate to the chopping off your head thing. We sometimes have to force the action to move ourselves forward even when we don’t feel like it.
WOW, what a beauty of a post. I was walking with you in the crispness of the season, and you could be walking in Melbourne, we experience the same alternating weather in a day. I love the poems too, I have read them a couple of times so I could make a specific comment — except I can relate to all of them ... Letter, Not Your Water and Action. Thanks for sharing. 🌱 😊 🙏
Thank you for your comment. I am glad they chimes with you. Yes we are having all that ‘every type of weather in a day’ thing here atm. Keeps things interesting at least! I always imagine Australia as warm but I suppose it gets a bit cooler here and there, especially on the coast.
And any excuse for a scarf 😊. Our weather is diverse here, it is tropical up north but down where I am, we have the wild southern ocean and breezes straight off the south pole. Hot and dry Summers and grey and bloody icy wind Winters even though there is no snow (Melb). In the other end of the country ... Darwin, it is a constant temperature of around 27-32 everyday, though they just have the 2 seasons ... hot and steamy 🤣.
Julie, I have seen many of your hilarious posts but never seen a poem. Wow, every line flowed like water. Your emotions are pure and honest. You had a year of transition, one that may have started with frustration and anger but ended with confidence and humility. These poems were amazing, much thanks sweetie.
Aww thank you. Yeah that’s why I always say my stack is a mixed bag cause it all depends what mood I am in what I’m putting out there. I like to be authentic and wear my heart on my sleeve just as much as I take the piss. I think there’s room for all sides of us.
I love these. My favourite is probably the last one, Action, and not just because I love the word 'lollipops'. That was a bonus.
Lovely poems. Glad you’re getting your Spring mojo workin’.
Thank you. Yes, Spring in my step again :)
Incredible work. 🙏🏼
Thank you
“If you are someone’s water, you are their everything.” More than spot on! Really enjoyed this insight to your poem.
You get it, right? Thank you :)
Very nice, Dee!! THANK YOU.

Yes, me too. I always wanted to be a Julia, thought it sounded classier but these days I’m fine with my name x
Julia may have once sounded classier because it was more rare but now Julie is more rare, sounds not classier but simply a lot more full of life and joy.
Bless you. Yes it does sound joyful, jubilant ❤️😊

It’s a child like month, a baby and yes I certainly feel like I retain my inner child.
Thank you and have a lovely day 😊
You too 🥰
Yes, Happy Birthday Month! (I also appreciated how you added the meanings of the poems for context.)
Thanks. Yes I saw someone else do it once and it helped me understand them better so started doing it. I add them at the end though just in case they don’t want to know.

absolutely exquisite, every word.and Happy Birthday :)
Thank you, glad you enjoyed, my birthday is in a couple of weeks but I will absolutely try and have a happy one.
Outstanding and lovely writing Julie! “Puckish fairy?” 🧚♀️🧚🧚♂️ I love it! 💖
Gotta love the fairies, they’re magical, just like you! 😉😘✨
I enjoyed every one of these poems, and I’m glad to see you back! 😊❤️
Thank you. I thought this weekend (in the UK anyway) it would be all Mother’s Day posts so thought I’d do something different.

Happy Birthday Julie. My birthday month also is April and have always thought it a beautiful month to have a birthday.
Excellent. Glad you like it too for your birthday. Wonderful to have a Spring birthday. Hope yours is all you want it to be x
Same to you too 🎉🎂

You’re right Julie
My birthday is in April too Julie and my parents did consider naming me April. I think it would have been more interesting 😉
Yes I have always liked the name April too, it’s beautiful, the nicest of the ‘month names’ I think.
Julie your poems are full of life light ,and sadness, and hope . Great as usual 🙂♥️ X.
Thank you. A bit of everything maybe, eh? :)
