Yes. I like the idea of life a a quilt, adding bits and embracing the less beautiful parts as in and amongst. If life really were a patchwork quilt, I imagine there’d be a lot of beige polyester but it doesn’t work quite so well in a poem 😂😂
I used to knit squares to make into quilts, making little patterns and pictures in some of them. I sent most of them to Oxfam but kept one. It sounds silly but when I use it I feel as if something of my own essence is woven into it, so your poem was a very good analogy.
When I was a teenager, I used to make patchwork bags with my mum to sell as craft fayres. We used fabrics we’d collect at car boot sales, usually old curtains. I had one too. Loved it. Felt like I was carrying pieces of strangers lives around.
Absolutely. We invest a lot more in objects than just their material components. I suppose it's a way with connecting with others or hanging on to loved ones who have passed.
Romantic mood today.
Sun is spilling in from my window, playfully primrosing the bedroom wall. 🥰
You'd love the annual Patchwork & Quilters show at the NEC in B'ham!
I bet I would, yes :)
That really was a lively, colourful patchwork of words and images. Thank you.
I’ve been over posting like fuck recently, I know 😂
It just feels like since all the stuff got sorted with my son, it was all snow in cloud waiting to fall 😂
Luscious
Textured and colourful, as all the best quilts are!

I hear you.
