Patchwork Quilt
I am a patchwork quilt today
My hem, a gem in battling stitch
Each relic of me called to dance
As bonny baby, maiden, witch
Each square, a mile of fairy tale
Jewel jaws and emerald tide
Princes blistered from my hail
Silk roads that caused fixed paths to slide
In velvet dungeon, brocade maze
I shrugged burnt sugar from my spine
Basked in marvel as a cat
Checking lives off, from my nine
The spread is vast, each patch my past
There’s opulence and tattered fray
But til life fabric’s worn and lost
I add the next, rich, this new day
Romantic mood today.
Sun is spilling in from my window, playfully primrosing the bedroom wall. 🥰
