I feel sad at how some things have gone for me personally recently, but filling my days and making plans is how I handle that.

“Hope not mope” is my new mantra!

‘Spare’ time is like leftover wine. It shouldn’t exist! So I’m stuffing it full as a springy, gorgeous, patchwork cushion. Making it comfortable, useful and beautiful.

Yes. If you ever have tulips in a vase with other flowers, you’ll notice after a day that the tulips will be taller. Survivors!

And another interesting metaphor which can be applied to tulips is that they continue to grow, even when you cut them.

I always admire early Spring flowers especially tulips and daffodils.

They bravely poke their heads up not knowing what the weather is going to throw at them. One minute glorious, warm sunshine which shows their beauty, the next tossed around in the wind and then bending over full of rain. But they never break...and they come back again year after year.

Rather like the human spirit...

And it seems unfortunate they have such long stems with all that early wind to bear. Feels a bit mean of nature. Setting them up😂

Still, nature plays many cruel jokes…

The ones in the photo are in my garden which i can’t really call a garden cause it’s so small, just a step and a thin strip outside my house.
