I'm sure her view would be that she can understand people's concerns which are very real and that she likes to keep an open mind but if anyone has any *underground* information they should DM her rather than put it out there themselves....
I always enjoy your poems and this one really got me thinking (having paid to go to a “Truther” event last weekend). I absolutely do not begrudge anyone making money. It’s all just an exchange of energy and I’d rather it was going to people doing good work on whatever level than whoever it ends up with when we pay our “bills” for things that could easily be free if the system wasn’t designed to crush us.
If you did end up living in a country pile because of how highly people valued your amazing writing, I’d have nothing but happiness for you.
The marketing side of things does turn me off. It seems inherently exploitative but it’s just become an accepted way of capturing more of attention and energy. When people are queuing up for T shirts, mugs and selfies at the end of any event, I’ve never been that guy. I’m embarrassed by it. But I don’t begrudge others their joy and, if anything, I sometimes envy their ability to find immediate pleasure in “stuff”. That being said, if you ever sell a mug (Cup of Dee?), I will buy it.
As regards the teasing of “intel” and the infighting with each other, yeah, they can fuck right off.
Be upfront (and many are). I always was on my Twitter. I always said "I'm here for ME and if you wanna come along for the ride, cool."
If I ever went to paid, I wouldn't be bullshitting you that I was helping some cause or other. The "cause" would be my good self.
That's why my substack is a mix of stuff and not just shit show. It would be easy to jump aboard that bandwagon and just pump out stuff about that, there's certainly appetite and material for it but I must feed my soul and go with what comes to mind at the time. That's why in some ways my substack is a random journal and probably boring to many. Fuck it though eh? :)
It’s not about anyone particular by the way, more an amalgamation of various examples I’ve seen. It’s just tongue in cheek.
I also know there are plenty of fine people in this movement doing podcasts etc. 😘
