Oh my goodness hope the hair was satisfactory. Having to change your hairdresser is seriously bothersome.

I get your concern for businesses becoming more bland and ‘business-like’ with less care for the personal touch. These past few years have certainly released the inner sociopath in so many customer facing staff.

The thing that drew me with my son to this particular Barbers was that they were ignoring all the Convid protocol.

His previous hairdresser - who touted herself as specialising in children - had gone full on Nazi, insisting even little toddlers masked up. I removed my review from her page and vowed never to return.

I found myself laughing reading this. Some really funny parts. Beautifully written.

Good. Sometimes I wonder what to write about but sometimes just everyday experiences are enough aren’t they?

They encompass the laughs, the insights and relatability we all need don’t they?

Definitely. Some of the most funny/beautiful/sad stories are right there in front of us in day to day things. You have a real knack for spotting those things and putting them into words like few can. A joy to read.

An enjoyable journey through your mind. The barbershop is an odd place with shallow conversation and deep thoughts.

A Turkish barbers, well that is brave Julie!

In a small town near me, which is more akin to a village, there are four Turkish barbers. It must be for money laundering.

I have a friend who is a hairdresser come to my home now to cut and colour my hair. My memories of going to the hairdresser are of looking in the mirror wondering who that old person was staring back at me😳 In my head I’m still on 30 years so looking at myself in the mirror was a bit depressing.

Aww Good Morning Julie. I haven't laughed so much in ages. It's the way you say it. Brilliant. I did feel for you though, I know exactly what you mean... just standing there ...captive ..when you first walked in. As long as there ARE people, there will always be personalities, my hope and guess anyway . Thank you for sharing again

Glad you enjoyed. Yes, we need to retain originality, who wants identikit chains all churning out the same?

Not me!

I would have done exactly the same. Those people were nauseous. My hair is really long these days and I have no fringe because I would not got to any full on nazi salon. Reminds me of my hippy chick phase in the early 70s. Could be worse! 😉

Bude holiday is going really well. The weather’s been amazing. I even swam in the sea! It was bloody freezing though.

Oh excellent re Bude.

I’ll be up in Scotland in a couple of weeks, bet it’s ‘bracing’ up there! *Gulp*.

Get you in the sea, hey!!! I’ve been having cold showers this week thinking I’m ‘ard…..clearly nothing on you….😉

For anyone wondering why I had such massive issues with having my hair cut, I wrote about it in this piece here;
