I didn’t just wear ‘tan and blushes’ by the way, I got proper bloody sunburnt, didn’t I? But I left that out of the poem, cause it sounded a bit shit.😂

First of all, you are beautiful! It takes guts to show a make- up- less face in these times of insane beautification and perfectionism!

In my opinion, you look better than without make up!

I love the zeal, friendliness and enthusiasm of most people in south america!

For life and nature! They understand how important the environment is.

Costa Rica was another great place, the way our guide treated my daughter, like she was his own!, amazing!

Once in a while I buy guanabana juice, we had fun to just learn how to say that!! :)

Beautiful pictures!

Thank you! It is wonderful to take part in your advanture!

Bless you and thank you.

I love dressing up in make up and pretty dresses but I absolutely enjoyed the freedom of not giving any of that superficiality a second thought. It’s all a game after all and i had a different one to play.

Costa Rica was the other destination toss up - it was there or Galápagos. It’s another place I have read about all my life, the bio diversity and beauty.

South American hospitality was out of the world.

Wow. They have actual Animal Kingdom Social Distancing? Thanks for bringing it all alive, I hope Fredy does get some trade.

They do indeed but it works so well. No-one enforces it as such as everyone there wants it to stay as it is. When they want seals to move so they can board the boats, they clap so they go. Funny to see.

What a wonderful adventure! I'll have to go back and catch up to where you are. My brother is headed to the Galapagos Islands this fall. I'll pass on your adventures to him.

Lol - it reminds me what is good for one might not be healthy for another, even within our human community/family.

Just sitting in my garden in the sunshine after de dusting the house (least favourite job) and read this. What a lovely account of a brief and much simpler life. Did you feel separated from carnage here for that little while. I’m guessing your final account will tell us if it lived up to your expectations. Did your boy want to hear all about it?

Less than 3 weeks now before a set out on my solo island hop.

I'm enjoying every second of your adventure. Fredy's life, sounds idyllic. The turtle's and iguanas were incredible. I wonder how old those turtle's are. Imagine if they could tell us all they have seen x

Julie, you are such a good writer and I love every bit of this. Thank you for laying your journey out in such a way that feels the boundless beauty of God and earth, real and magical, felt and humourous. Simply lovely. I love hearing your gentle voice too! You are most definitely renewed. Thank you for sharing. oxox

So often we plan stuff and it doesn’t turn out how we want it to. This trip exceeded my expectations. So rare.

I hope you get to plan something for yourself soon. It’s easy to get bogged down in the darkness I know. There are horrible things going on and it’s a tricky balance, staying informed yet keeping mental health afloat xx
