Was gonna send you a DM anyway but just got this email. I got my twitter account back 2 days ago! Tried to share my Substack articles but as you’ve already covered here, that’s not even allowed anymore! 🙄 It’s unbelievably an even bigger divisive echo chamber there than it was before. I am quite taken aback actually with how bad it is over there now. I so wish you could come back to add some no nonsense common sense too. You are one of the only voices I respect and actually trust. What a mess we are now living in. x
Absolutely, I have learnt so much from my extended social media break 😘 So many people have already asked about you and if you’ll be getting your account back. You are so terribly missed. Not the same without you for sure.
This just proves everything we already know about Elon restricting Substack articles now, the saviour of free speech but scared of a little competition here 🙄 x
I find Twitter now to be exceptionally dull except for a few insightful accounts. It’s such a shame. It could be a wonderful forum for debate and ideas, and I miss the random lovely tweets from people like yourselves that often brightened my day. With that being said, I always appreciate reading your Substacks when I have the time. There’s something about authentically created art and poetry that awakens the wings of hope to flutter within my rib cage. So I do hope you will keep posting, Julie. Much love x
That’s what I miss about Twitter. Just posting a joyful line or image. Or retweeting one. I was no angel, hence my ban some might say but I felt like I had some power to bring joy (when the mood took me😉) and it was a beautiful gift.
For those of you still on there, it’s worth remembering you can spread truth, of course BUT it’s not a choice of Joy OR Truth.
is happy being segregated into groups with their polarised views without any self- awareness of it. I’m so glad there are a few of us that can still see the bigger picture and view people as individuals without judgement rather than as part of a wider divisive group. x
Twitter is now flexing it’s wings and SubStack is being bashed. Things seemed better when Elon Musk first bought Twitter. Many accounts that were permanently suspended slowly but surely were resurrected. Tweets were less regulated. Fast forward and we now have our tweets censored. SubStack is an irritant to Twitter and is paying the price.
I totally agree Julie. I was wary of Elon Musk when he took over Twitter and had a ‘wait and see’ approach to him. Others thought Musk would be our saviour. Well, it hasn’t quite worked out that way! When Eva Vlaadingerbroek recently had her Twitter account ‘permanently suspended’ again, she was reinstated within hours after an intervention from Elon Musk himself. Musk has even retweeted Eva’s posts and been engaging with her. Would this be because of the uproar about the suspension from Eva’s large following or may be Elon fancies his chances with the beautiful Eva?🤔
But without sounding too paranoid, could it be that as with the reinstatement of Bernie many moons ago, some larger accounts are worth taking down with the sole purpose of creating a fracas to test public waters and then re build…..
Yes. I think we’re all part ‘critical thinker’ part ‘paranoid head fuck’ these days thanks to the last few years! Hopefully the critical thinker wins most of the time 🙏😂

Bless you. X
It’s great you got your account back. Should never have been banned.
Whatever happens on there, remember to step away when it gets too much. I know you know this.
Keep your heart open but your hard hat firmly on! X

Joyful truth is the best kind of truth of all.
Completely agree Han. It’s more of an echo chamber than ever. Very little debate or educated interaction sadly. Seems everyone
is happy being segregated into groups with their polarised views without any self- awareness of it. I’m so glad there are a few of us that can still see the bigger picture and view people as individuals without judgement rather than as part of a wider divisive group. x
Which of course reflects what is happening in the wider world - fragmentation.
💯 Exactly that! Can you try make another account there Julie or have you had enough of starting over? x
I just want to be me, Nat. Don’t want to have to ‘hide’. X

Musk is toying with people. They’re overthinking which has a range of benefits for censors/regulators;
1) firstly people are censoring their own speech before they put it out there hence censors getting their wish anyway
2) creating the blue tick system makes it about money
3)speech becomes less natural so people are less spontaneous and open

That’s one theory, certainly.

That’s definitely a possibility Julie. I become more cynical as time goes on!

Thank you Julie
Hi Julie. Hang on in there, love your stuff. Just had to sign in to the app again from scratch. Bizarre. Enjoy your day.
Yeah. Thing is I’m gonna write all the same, I always have. It’s just that substack just feels like a place to put it cause I cba to get a website.😂
You too, mate :)
Write + the world will beat a way to your door
This is is why having your own blog, even if only a daily link to your substack/insta etc is a good idea because it is harder for twitter to censor
I sometimes speak some of my stuff onto YouTube videos - these link ok + you can add a link inside your substack
I’ll write regardless. I just have to remind myself that there are things outside of my control.
Miss you a lot on Twitter, love to see you back
Thanks, lovely xx
That’s much appreciated Izabela. Xx
