Just watched Bob Moran on the Abi Roberts show. He very calmly put to her the highly plausible theory that the ‘Pisstake’ was necessary because so many people are inevitably putting 2 and 2 together and the ghouls felt they might be losing control of the narrative so the best way to reinforce it was to get the maybe Dr maybe not and good old Ged M on board to create that pile of garbage. Why would anyone watch it? Beats me.

Keep the fear alive! It must never be allowed to fade……

Why? So next time the public will be just as easy to manipulate.

There will come a day when the oral history will be the only one believed by “the community”, because the official version will be so obviously wrong. You won’t be able to read about it, you’ll have to hear it from a storyteller.

Bang on point! I think it’s backfiring on them a bit though as it’s reminding people of not being allowed to be with dying relatives/children 😥

I remember’the storyteller’ … ‘in Russia I am Ivan, in Sweden I am Yan, in Germany I’m Johan in England I am John ‘ ;) x

Yes it was so gentle that old cartoon although I also liked the channel four Storyteller with John Hurt. Both were cool.

Four years after the event.

What is it trying to do?

What is its purpose?

They marketed that whole CV narrative with the highest skillset from Madison Avenue. Remember that slogan that came out at the very beginning? “We’re in this together”?

Indeed. Lots of use of ‘our’ and ‘we’.

For some reason it’s making me think back to the 2012 Olympic ceremony and all the subliminal messaging there.

Well said Julie. I avoided it but did watch Sonia Poulton’s short dissection. It’s apposite to note that in this digital age all it takes is the flick of a computer algorithm to erase and rewrite history. George Orwell would be amazed at how accurate his prognostications have proved to be.

Indeed. Even in the last few years the way they’ve erased history just because it’s unpleasant. Taking down statues of people with dubious morals, removing some vintage TV shows because of their distasteful themes/references.

Surely we should have the option of seeing what has been to learn from it. We don’t need to celebrate all that has come before us, but censorship hides ugly truths we often need to acknowledge to make sense of our current problems.

The hallmark of totalitarianism is censorship and this always ushers in a very nasty humourless society. I think back to all the comedy programmes I used to enjoy & these days hardly any would be commissioned. Remember seeing the old dour museum attendants, who were around in Soviet times, completely without humour.

True and I think part of that comes from overthinking. People begin to censor themselves, desperately trying not to ‘offend’ because of the social implications of that. It can kill the spontaneity of interaction/offerings.

I suspect that although probably the majority still sleep in the comfort of the fantasy world that the media projects around them, the proportion of the population who are awake to the relentless propaganda has grown significantly. Those who pedal lies forget that the human soul longs for truth.

Which is one of the reasons now, 4 years later they are reinforcing the old narrative.

You write so eloquently and sensitively about nature, art, interaction, affairs of the heart, with so much compassion and balance - yet when you shine your laser focus upon injustice, hypocrisy and stupidity, there is a particular energy in your words. You pierce straight to the heart of the matter and it’s exhilarating to read. The humour, when it hits, which you always make sure it does, is amplified because of disruption of the rhythm of the rant.

Aww ta. I’m a mixed bag, I write all sorts, poems, rants, stories, random shit.

Yes writing is like a therapy isn’t it?

I hope you get back into it and it’s nice to see you here.

Substack is a nice place, not so harsh as some social media and there seems to be more tolerance for a range of views without resorting to name calling/blocking.

That's good to know. And yes, sitting on poetry and random scribbling here too. Will get on and set it up!

Excellent piece Julie...so much to say but frankly I’m sick to the stomach now of denials, changing of statistics, downright lies by politicians, the NHS, health professionals etc etc over the last 4 years, except for the brave few who’ve put their heads above the parapet. It has been calculated that only 20% of populations are critical thinkers..that leaves 80% who are totally unaware of what’s really going on. You can’t blame them..maybe that’s a better place to be? Being constantly angry is not good for the soul. I do know that truth always wins, but it’s the waiting that’s so frustrating!

Expand full comment
author

Yes I can’t write stuff like this all the time despite the appetite for it, because like you say it’s not good for the soul. If I write them now and again, I can stay balanced but there’s a danger the more you surround yourself with the negativity of the situation and frustration/futility felt, you get consumed by it and that energy helps no-one.

Agree but it’s hurtful that friends have died and are sick by taking the “vaccine” they thought would protect them and others, and no doctors explained that it was a novel mRNA vaccine and what the risk could be to them. Why was I the sceptical one and they weren’t?

.. it’s very clear that every nation dealt differently with the onset of the Covid Pandemic as well as the ensuing stages that have followed..

Thanks for your comment.

My objective in writing this piece was to challenge the idea that this TV drama told a different story to the ones we have heard before, as it professes to.

It didn’t. It served to reinforce the same narrative.

Whatever you or others may think of those experiences, they exist and are just as valid.

Many people lost loved ones and income not because of an illness, but because of decisions politicians made that impacted upon them. Their stories have still not been told by MSM.

I am not sure what you mean by verifiable sources of information with regard to these lived experiences. Perhaps I misunderstand you there. One cannot take issue with, nor dispute a lived reality.

As for

mis/disinformation, it’s up to ‘everyone to research and make their own minds up about ‘Covid’ and the vaccine. In the world we live in, it’s difficult to source reliable information free of bias. Hence my point about following the money and questioning motive.

I have no desire for division, quite the opposite. I hate the whole ‘them’ and ‘us’ thing.

very well said - thank you .. ! A question for you.. & certain of those who replied - What is ‘the story you believe’ ? Inevitably for all of us - we have living memory of our initial ‘perceptions - via ‘Media’ & our varying societies - and have since expanded our ‘perceptions via living memory - as we each have lived along our ways since.. It all melts down at some point to ‘Core Experiences & Evolving Beliefs’ - usually revolving or churning around The Infection & Transmission - Vaccines & Other Measures - Morbidity & Mortality - Medical Science - Governance - Media .. (what did I miss ?)

Am totally unaware re Context of TV Programs & Characters you mention !
