I know I’ve been posting a lot recently and sometimes that pisses off subscribers when people overpost (is there such a thing?), but I’ve just had more to say and write about.
Take this as compensation for the three months or whatever it was towards the end of last year when I barely said owt 😂😂😂
A lovely part of the world, but I do remember trying to get through a field nearby once and the cows were much surlier than Northern cows, so well done on the whispering. Love the description of the pebbles - could feel, hear and smell them.
As a teenager, a boyfriend took me to a new cinema on an industrial estate. Just off a motorway but not to worry cause “we only have to cross this field”.
The colours, wish l could just slip into the scene, Harry Potter style. The path leading to the beach is beautiful, l think l would have to get in the water 😊. And the cow ❤️
Ha! I think I was thinking of Cherry Bakewells (I used to like them as a child) and how the cherry on the top makes them look pretty, finishes them off - just as the beautiful weather did in this instance. A place can be scenic when the weather is crap but good weather just tops it off rather nicely I think!
Yeah I use that expression too. Picked it up in SE Manchester and I quite often describe something being better than expected as “the cherry on the Bakewell. 🍒
😊When I was a kid we used to sing “5 currant buns in a baker’s shop, round and fat with a cherry on the top” but then another teacher sang “sugar on the top” and I reflected way too much on this and decided currant buns would be silly with cherries on the top and that sugar on top seemed far more practical and probable . Yeah….even as a kid I was an over thinker😂😂🤷♀️
It was on mine for ages but my ‘bucket’ list is more of a giant skip 😂😂 I will never fit it all in! I pine sometimes that I’m too skint to do a Galápagos every year but then remember how fortunate we are in the UK having so much variety on our doorstep in terms of scenery and local character.
I went to Nice in March on my own for three days. Like you I don’t have the time or the money to venture out so much and at the mo I am having to use any spare to repair and paint at home. This is still good for the soul (sense of achievement etc) but yes there’s a lot out there I would like to see x
Oh years ago I visited Nice on the way to Corsica. It was in the glory days of cheap flights before the green doom squad ruined it for everyone with ridiculous taxes 😂 I Easyjetted it there then got the ferry over. I just remember lots of palm trees and people walking dogs, weirdly.
Very nice though but I always get nervous in France cause my French is so shit😂😂
Yes it's a beautiful place to visit.l liked the cow 🐄 "Hello to you,"Julie she said, Thomas Hardy land is amazing and very scenic.Great photos.Julie thanks 😊 X.
Thanks. Oh I just have to talk to the animals everywhere I go! They’re fab. I’m a fan of Hardy, read ‘Jude The Obscure’ last year and was very impressed by the calibre of writing.
My wife and I grew up on farms. Mine was a grain and cotton farm in Arkansas while hers was a farm that raised dairy cows in Georgia. When we had started dating as teenagers her dad gave us the task of feeding the cows. We went to the bottom of a hill in the pasture and honked the horn a few times then got out and started breaking bales of hay down and laying it on the ground. I looked up and all I saw was a heard of cows at a dead run headed for the truck. I jumped up and was sitting on top of the cab, but she was still breaking down bales. When the cows got to her, they would break away and she just looked at me and smiled. I had all kinds of reasons why I was sitting on the cab, but I didn't get down till they were all finished running.

Keep 'em coming! Loved this.
I thought that is what we do here. Throw out ideas. Sometimes there are a lot and sometimes not so much.
True. Sometimes I just get a bit self conscious about over or under posting
I’ve barely posted for the last nine months because I have been so busy. But my final assignment was on Thursday and now the shackles are off!
Go you 👌🏼🔥

Well, when you’ve faced a bull in Bury…….😬😂
Those cows are nothing now😂
Lovely part of England, especially in sunny weather. 👍
And when it’s quiet. Glad I went mid week/non school hols and avoided the crowds.
Stunning 🤩
It’s a lovely part of the world and I did well with weather.

Blissful Julie. I had to read it twice but I quite liked “my cake is merrily cherried”.😂

It was sugar on top as I remember 😉😂

Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery and, of course, beautiful writing and photos.
Almost like being there.
Glad you appreciated this. I enjoyed writing about it.
I loved this one, too Julie! I want to go walk that route but I would not be posing for selfies at the edge of anything 😂
They were very extreme! 😬
Absolutely stunning photos, Julie. I would be petting the cows too. 🩵💛
Thank you. It was a gorgeous place.
I want to dash off to Dorset now for my lashings and lashings of ginger beer.
Just have to persuade the wife!
😂 I hope you get there, it’s lovely.
Getting there is hard with no car 😥
I don’t have one myself. Hence the mention of the bus. Where there’s a will…
Wife’s first reaction is promising!
Now on my list of places to visit!

Nice is Nice - yes palm trees and lots of dog walkers 😂 I haven’t been to Corsica, I’d like to go there and Sardinia too and Italy …
Corsica was beautiful. The contrast of gorgeous beaches and pine forest 😊
Yes, I like the look of it. x

Lovely photos of a place I probably will never get to see! Thanks for sharing them!
