And that for one day only, the ‘cost of living crisis’, ‘Ukraine War’ and all the usual tales of woe would be conveniently swept neatly under a big red carpet.

On a more serious note, I know he ‘didn’t choose’ to be born into all of this but couldn’t we all say that?
None of us choose the circumstances into which we’re born. But to some extent we choose what we become and decisions we make.
Edward VIII (who chose to abdicate and be with his lover Mrs Simpson) shows us that if he really wanted he could turn his back on it all and walk away.
That would surely be the right thing to do.
As for the Savile thing, regardless of how implicated Charles was/how much he knew, at the very least it surely shows poor judgement. And is being a good judge of character not a quality people would require in a king?

I will not be celebrating the Coronation or watching any of it on tv, I find it all nauseating. Neither will I be pledging my allegiance to a woke king. Charles will be a disaster as king.
