Remember when you were a kid at the supermarket and you’d pester your mum for stuff at the checkout?
“No! I’m not made of money”
She’d say.
Then you’d see her get a wad of notes out to pay for all the shopping and you’d think;
“Hang on……but….”
What she’d actually meant was, some things are more important than others.
They take priority.
Fast forward to adulthood and we hope that’s what governments will do. Act like grown ups. Put our health and well-being first. Take a long hard look at the finances and make sensible decisions.
Like……..um…...I dunno……
Give an extra £350 million to Ukraine.
Wait……what’s that???
Yeah, that’s right, EXTRA. On top of what we’ve already chucked their way! That’s what was announced yesterday.
I swear Zelensky has the gall of a Jehovah’s Witness and the balls of Oliver Twist.
Meanwhile, ‘our’ government budgets like a giddy Viv Nicholson. Except it’s not fast cars and holidays it has a penchant for. It’s war.
Or more specifically, other peoples’ wars.
Wars that have sod all to do with us.
Starmer plays a shit Old Mother Hubbard, as did Sunak before him. He tries to convince us the cupboard is bare, but can always find a juicy bone or two for certain pet projects.
“No winter fuel allowance for YOU pensioners……. AND we’ll make it harder to claim disability benefits……”
Yes, he’s like The Milky Bar Kid to other countries, doling out millions, whilst Brits are treated like the ginger step child.
It’s one things to defend our own country if under attack, but why on earth would we want to piss off Russia? You know, RUSSIA, that massive one with a gazillion time zones.
Who decided THAT was a good idea?
Yeah, let’s go puff up our jacket, beat our chest and keep saying ‘roooaaarr’ to the big scary polar bear country.
‘You have to pick a side’
I often hear. But it’s not true.
Neutrality IS A THING.
There are some countries in the world that never get involved with any of it. None of their beeswax. Consciously decide to prioritise their own people. Radical eh? Besides, is ‘picking a side’ the same as bankrolling a side? Hm……
And let’s not kid ourselves this is about ‘doing the right thing’, about standing up to bullies. Like hell it is! After all, it’s only certain atrocities we concern ourselves with, isn’t it?
Palestine, anyone?
Wars have become like sports in progressive schools these days. It’s not about the winning but the ‘taking part’. And how Britain loves to take part.
We’ve even heard whispers of conscription!
Well, some fluttery word salad that amounted to the same thing down the line.
They speak casually about OUR CHILDREN like figures in a toy battle fort. Lose one? Oh, thousands more where he came from…..
Keeping wars alive serves two purposes. Firstly, to make those who deal in arms and their shareholders wealthy. Secondly, to cultivate fear, thus rendering populations easier to control and manipulate.
But it only works with our agreement. Our co-operation. Those at the bottom of the food chain must agree to be used by those at the top.
No!
War, is not a game.
Human beings are not toy soldiers.
Every single person killed in conflict is loved by someone, missed by someone. Whatever their nationality.
Refuse to feed their bloodthirsty appetites.
Call out the way they throw good money after bad!
The cupboard is NOT BARE.
The cupboard is NOT THEIRS.
The cupboard is OURS.

Nailed it! Now do the housing crisis and mass immigration too. Where do we keep finding these useless politicians?
