I wanted to write something on this today, not to sway anyone but rather to affirm a very valid choice.
The ‘not voting’ thing still holds a certain amount of stigma. A shame.
I wanted people who feel similarly to me, to feel better equipped in articulating their decision and argument when others ask them, to feel confident and happy in voicing their choice when engaging with others.
There is also a feeling amongst many of wanting to ‘show them’ - but ‘they’ are still establishment aren’t they?
Doesn’t an adult just leave the room instead of continuing to engage? For me it’s like a toxic relationship.
But all that said, we must all do as we see fit, vote or not vote. Spoil a ballot or tear the thing up.
And more importantly, we must remain able to express and discuss our choice in a civil way. That is where growth lies. As always. ❤️
Voting legitimizes the charade. You agree to take responsibility for the shit THEY'RE doing! See how that works? Not in my name, thank you very much, call me what you may
I agree that voting is a pointless act that merely supports the rigged system. In some places, though, maybe all “democracies,” if you are registered to vote and do not, your vote can be put to a candidate anyway. Illegitimate, but what isn’t illegitimate about voting systems? I’ve heard a better way is to spoil your ballot—write “I do not consent” across it, or if your jurisdiction has only electronic voting, mark the ballot in such a way that it can’t be counted. I’m planning to try to rescind my voter registration this year before the election in November, or if I can’t do that, go to the poll and spoil my ballot.
I think corruption is more likely to take place when they have you on record in some way (ie registered). But it’s hard to know. We must all do what we think is right.
They try to tell us we get fined if we don’t but I did a freedom of information request and asked how many were fined in the last 10 years in my area and it came back 0. Quelle surprise.
I found such a form for my local county, which I completed and sent in.
Maybe two months later, I was out walking when a man stopped me and my wife to ask us to sign a petition. The only requirement was being a registered voter. I told him I was done with the system and asked him to verify that I wasn't on the voter list any longer. He checked for my name and couldn't find it. Meanwhile, my wife's name came up, as she is still participating in the charade. So it works.
Bang on the mark as you always are. Also its easy not to vote as even the illusion of choice has failed, clearly there is no good choice. I will no longer be voting for the lesser of two evils and the pantomime, Also I do not consent or bow down to the illusion of democracy.
I looked over at Danny last night and said, "It's all madness," as some reel about Biden was replaying and people were jabbering on about this and that and then it went over to Trump and more jabbering ensued about this and that and on and on it goes...and on...and on... (He watches the news far more than I do.)
I could not love this message more Julie, you have my heart. ❤️🔥🙌
Yes in the US it’s just the same sadly. On we go eh? A little wiser every day hopefully and understanding the corruption, seeing through the bullshit a little more.
You at least have the right to remove your government using the arms you are allowed specifically for that purpose, instead you sit around allowing the pantomime that is the US presidency!
Thank you. I suppose for me writing this piece it’s not so much about being wrong or right but acknowledging not voting as a conscious and valid choice.
That non voters are not all the ignorant fools they are made out to be. Many of us have been on a journey. And bloody hell it was a long one.
Not to be part of a corrupt system that keeps the majority of people enslaved makes so much sense. I agree with many of the points you make, particularly in relation to the draconian measures that were implemented during the time of the lockdowns. I believe that what’s happening with this so-called election is just a passing on of the baton and that things are poised to get infinitely worse.
It’s Keir’s turn. The WEF have decided that Savile fanboy is the best person to further the nanny state bringing in more confusion coupled with tighter controls in the name of ‘safety’ - and sadly, he will do a very good job at meeting that aim…..
Yes, that’s right. Unfortunately many people seem to be blissfully unaware of Keir Starmer’s role as Head of the Crown Prosecution Service during the Saville era and those who raise questions are deemed to be ‘Conspiracy Theorists’. I find it hard to understand why more people don’t seem to see the problem with the close ties between Saville and the royals, particularly Charles. There’s no doubt in my mind that Starmer’s government will be very authoritarian. As you said, they will be helping to further the WEF’s Agenda, as we move closer to 2030.
None of us are ‘free’ right now despite our wishes. There is however, a difference between endorsing and encouraging our abusers - the state - and calling them out, naming it as abuse.
I love your attitude! I did plan to tootle down to the polling station to spoil my ballot but it is soooo wet I can't see myself leaving the house today haha Not sure I can be proud of my lazy attitude but I am proud not to feed the beast!!!
Spoiled ballots are counted you know, if all the apathetic people actually did get out and vote or spoil their ballots things would change. The Czechs didn’t have a vote under the Communist rule, they removed the government by infiltrating it and gained their freedom over decades that way, so please stop being a lazy very spoilt ‘I couldn’t be bothered to,voter’
I’m from the UK but couldn’t agree more. The last time and only time I ever voted was in 1992 (the first time I was old enough to) and in my misguided idealistic youth, after growing up under a Tory government, I believed Labour would be all the things they promised to be. That illusion faded pretty fast and I’ve never been involved in their theatre ever since. They’re all the same. It’s all a front.
I’m UK too, hence the stuff about the royals and the 4th July thing (when the election was here). Just posting it for my US readers as as most of it applies.
Yes some of us learned the hard way not to trust these people. Some have yet to realise…💔
Oh yes. I thought the 4th July reference was something related to Independence Day! 😂 Because I didn’t remember it was election day here. And oh how different everything is since Labour got in. A new world my arse.
I was delighted to note today that 48% of Brit voters declined the opportunity yesterday. Cheered me up! Far from feeling ashamed, I am hopeful that the message we sent was clear.
There is little point in voting when our politicians are a Uniparty that is utterly obedient to the Crown and Chatham House. Parliament should represent the people. When it begins to actually do that, I will vote..... until then it does not receive my consent or approval.
Guess what, they don’t want the majority to vote, you are aiding and abetting their power grab, spoil your ballot paper by writing I do not consent, or vote for a candidate who supports your views, or an independent you won’t change our system with apathy
Uhuh.... so where are the figures for spoiled ballots? Are we ever going to hear them?
We know INSTANTLY that 48% of us refuse to take part. THAT IS NOT APATHY. That is making our statement powerfully. So toddle off with your wasted journey and paper...... byee.
Bless you. Yes sometimes you feel so disconnected from everyone and everything, don’t you? And elections bring that mental isolation home. People excited and believing in what is nothing more than a silly baton passing ritual.
Thanks I will. Glad it’s more or less over, we were expecting the next phase of the charade so no one should be shocked. Onward and upward with not buying into any of the crap as best we can.
ah, I see your comment here. I was away from the internet for quite a few years, so I seem to not understand the basic architecture. "Where" things are.
I get what you're saying, I was all set to spoil my ballot too, as there was nothing worth voting for. However, we're lucky enough to have a candidate in my area for the Monster Raving Loony party so he's getting my vote!
I didn't realize that! But I'm not surprised. If I could, I would pour you a goblet of the true, the blushful Hippocrene on this, Julie! What a beautifully dry witty way to go about it.
Well I am in UK and our election has been and gone but maybe some US would be voters are feeling a little bit bullied by others to vote. I’ve restacked it for them. We must all do as we feel and big succumb to pressure.
Every little helps, I think. I was just going to wait it out but then restacked a bit of my own stuff for the same reason. I have a very small reach but still, as Hilaire Belloc puts it, the truth must be proclaimed loudly and often.
The thing that I don't get about the UK election btw: ok, over in the US they at least say (=lie) they are going to fix things. But that Starmtrooper bloke of yours and his minions, they said they were going to eff it all up from the get-go, and people still voted for them?
I think it was just a ‘lesser evil’ thing. People thought the Conservatives were so bad it couldn’t possibly be worse, wanted to give what they perceived as ‘new blood’ a go.
I wanted to write something on this today, not to sway anyone but rather to affirm a very valid choice.
The ‘not voting’ thing still holds a certain amount of stigma. A shame.

And more importantly, we must remain able to express and discuss our choice in a civil way. That is where growth lies. As always. ❤️
And yeah I’m gonna stick that on my window. Spread the word! So others see it and don’t feel shamed or stupid.
Voting legitimizes the charade. You agree to take responsibility for the shit THEY'RE doing! See how that works? Not in my name, thank you very much, call me what you may
Precisely. You are asking for, consenting to be ‘governed’. Just why????
I agree that voting is a pointless act that merely supports the rigged system. Yes the US electoral system is even more of a pantomime than the UK I think.
Bang on the mark as you always are. Also its easy not to vote as even the illusion of choice has failed, clearly there is no good choice. I will no longer be voting for the lesser of two evils and the pantomime, Also I do not consent or bow down to the illusion of democracy.
Thanks, I will stick it on Fb tomorrow morning when more people are awake!
For me it’s not about the parties but the entire system that needs bringing down. Be a pioneer, steer real change!
Also the same for me, lets tip over all the tables and create the new...❤
I looked over at Danny last night and said, "It's all madness," as some reel about Biden was replaying and people were jabbering on about this and that and then it went over to Trump and more jabbering ensued about this and that and on and on it goes...and on...and on... Indeed, deeply grateful for your perspective and courage in stepping forth. It's huge.🔥❤️🔥✨💔
Bless you xx
You at least have the right to remove your government using the arms you are allowed specifically for that purpose, instead you sit around allowing the pantomime that is the US presidency!
Keep It Short and Simple … You Are Right!
Democracy =The word comes from δῆμος dêmos "people" and κράτος krátos "power": "the people hold power."
In our present-day society it is anything but. All cooked and stewed.
Thank you. I suppose for me writing this piece it’s not so much about being wrong or right but acknowledging not voting as a conscious and valid choice.

100%
So you’re free then? 🤣
I think you misunderstand.
😂😂the raw honesty of that. Shit weather and not having a car is one of the reasons that when I did vote, I had a postal one.
Update, I then spent the morning helping my husband move the shed and got soaked to the skin 😜😜
Ahahah, at least that was for a real-life reason!
(That was an "ahahah" of sympathy... not that anyone will believe that...)
Spoiled ballots are counted you know, if all the apathetic people actually did get out and vote or spoil their ballots things would change. And already they have disappointed so many! Deary me!

Yes turn out was down by 8%. That pleases me.
Guess what, they don’t want the majority to vote, you are aiding and abetting their power grab, spoil your ballot paper by writing I do not consent, or vote for a candidate who supports your views, or an independent you won’t change our system with apathy

That's basically like 48% voting against the vote, actually.
Hope you had a good day.. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so lonely as I do tonight. What a bloody world it is.
Bless you. Yes sometimes you feel so disconnected from everyone and everything, don’t you? And elections bring that mental isolation home. People excited and believing in what is nothing more than a silly baton passing ritual.
I hope today is a better day for you xx

Indeed. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss….n all that.
65 years never voted. 65 years a free man.
I recognize watersheds, not nations.
I wish I’d never voted. For me it’s been a journey. It really has but I feel better now i choose not to engage with it.
ah, I see your comment here. I was away from the internet for quite a few years, so I seem to not understand the basic architecture. "Where" things are.

I’d vote for that one too before any of the other muppets.
I didn't realize that! But I'm not surprised. If I could, I would pour you a goblet of the true, the blushful Hippocrene on this, Julie! What a beautifully dry witty way to go about it.
Cheers.

…which was Communism?
They are all assholes.*
*Arseholes to the lot of them.
I absolutely agree.
Ah. Very nice.
