A message to my fellow human beings following the violence in Southport
A message
Violence.
Will it bring back three little girls?
Will it please their families to know that more violence happened in the name of their girls?
Will it ‘stop the boats’?
Will it ‘show them’?
Who are ‘they’ exactly?
How do you spot ‘them’?
What do ‘they’ look like?
Could you mistake ‘them’?
Do ‘they’ have children too?
Children, whose hearts beat just like your own?
Maybe they go to school with your kids.
What if all ‘they’ are is human, just like you are, with good and bad living among them.
What if ‘they’ are also susceptible to manipulation by false leaders and those who misrepresent them?
Thing is…….there is always a ‘they’, an other.
A bogey man to blame
A new false hero to worship
Rise, people, rise
Not with weapons or hate
But with love
Show your own kids that community (NOT communITIES) pulls together with love.
They were at a dance class.
Dance.
That gentle energy.
That flowing movement synonymous with stretching, flexibility, strength and joy.
Stretch your mind.
Be flexible in your thinking.
Be strong.
Hold their joy in your heart.
Flow with love.
Hate begets hate.
Counter attacks provoke further counter attacks.
Where does it end?
Remember those girls within the frequency of their own energy.
The sweet, beautiful, innocent energy of little girls.
Not the rage, cruelty and violence of grown men.
People, you are better than this.
Those little girls deserve better than this.
