Someone once said to me that if we didn't experience the bad things in life we wouldn't appreciate the good as much. I have found that to be true, that life is made by contrast. You have the capacity to see joy and light in the world around you, to explore truths and the meaning in experience. That's a gift you have and it brings joy to others. Thank you for that and for these poems. x
I saw some morning mist the other day and it was beautiful. There's always something around the corner to lift the spirits. Nature certainly has a habit of doing it. 💛
You write such stirring, beautifully written, observational poems Julie. The pictures of the elephant eye reminded me of a wonderful novel called “Leaving Time” by Jodie Picoult, a story woven around an elephant sanctuary showing the complexity of elephant society and how they grieve on a human level when they lose members of their herd.
It made me cry when reading it and touched my soul, similar to your poems. Are you published so others can enjoy them too?
I had a ‘tiny tears’ (unusual as my parents often couldn’t or wouldn’t buy the latest/popular or expensive toys) but it wasn’t until you pointed it out that I realised I never really took to making her cry! I preferred ‘feeding’ her with the bottle that the milk disappeared into.

Thank you.
I wrote them in the last shackles of dark, but already Tuesday has birthed as an amber gift. I hear the bird song and take in the low mist.🥰

Sounds like an interesting book. I appreciate that recommendation.
No I’m only published on here.
I very much appreciate your words Maddie
Wow. Incredible poems. Incredible mood.
I'm just knocked out by your gift for poetry. Beautiful.

Always feel a bit weird sharing poems on Facebook. I put the odd one on but they feel more personal and a bit too dark.
Lovely melancholic poems, Julie.

As usual your poems are on point, love them! X
Well it was either make her cry or make her wee wasn’t it?
The liquid had to get out one way or another 😂😂
And let’s not even go there😂😂
Used to love those magic milk bottles where it disappeared. They were ace.
😂😂
Eeek tiny tears is sick when you think of it..
Hope your well lovely, sending you ❤️
His school stuff still isn’t sorted. He’s mad about that, wants to go back. I’m going to take him blackberry picking, try and cheer us both up. X
I appreciate that. I’m always more reluctant to post bleaker stuff because I think are people gonna think “oh here she goes again…”
But we’re all dark and light, aren’t we?
