You can’t save everyone.
There’s a fire.
You see it, but not everyone does.
Amongst the blaze sits life’s dense haze that swamps ripe truth in every shade.
Winter bites
It’s easy not to notice smoke that cloaks to choke when skies are grey and folks are broke.
You can’t save everyone.
‘No fuel blues’ and ‘Can’t feed the kids’ chime in the dark mines of already full heads like an ebony barrel lady on a shoe-shine corner.
People are coughing.
They FEEL the heat, but still they see no fire.
Their eyes deceive them.
Eyes that have been distracted by the clever tricks of seasoned conjurors.
“Look here, look there. No, NOT there….”
You can’t save everyone, see.
You tell them about the fire you notice - you do, oh, how you do……
Many are too busy fighting their personal demons and dragons that take up so much room in their own hearts and minds, it’s hard to contemplate anything else.
You can’t save everyone.
And guess what?
You’re not meant to.
Not everyone is able to see the ‘red for danger’ even though they will feel the searing pain it brings just as deeply as everyone else.
Keep heading into the fire.
Not because you may save others but because it’s the place you will find your own true light.
.
As flames grow higher
And bodies burn
Why fight the fire?
Do they not learn?
As children cry and buildings fall
You wonder why fight fire at all?
.
It’s simple
.
Because YOU got the call🔥
Stunning. X
On the money again Julie. Hope you’re keeping well. Hope to see you on another march one of these days.
