A brief welcome post

Hi everyone 

It’s your extremist mate Julie here. The offensive one that starts shit. Or at least that’s how I’ve been painted in some circles - by squares.

Make your own mind up and step into my parlour.

I feel like I’m renting a new pad and can’t quite work out how I’m gonna decorate, y’know…..

Do I go minimalist or full-on Mr Trebus in terms of the amount of stuff I put here?

Do I put up a little of my chintz here and there, get out the heart shaped cushions or keep it cool and edgy?

Those of you who followed me on Twitter will know that my account was more of an eccentric artist’s attic space than a solid scheme. I did that on purpose because I was sick of people only revealing parts of themselves in a fake way.

I’ve never been a white carpets show home type of gal but I appreciate there are some of you who’ll be bored by poems or yet another bloody sunset photo and may be just here for my takes on Shitshow. 

I will keep this space mainly for longer pieces but if I wanna post a video, my favourite tarot card or a verse I’ve written, damn it, I will.

That’s why I’m calling my Newsletter (if this is a Newsletter - I don’t even understand this Substack malarkey) “Scroll On” or to give it its full title “Scroll the fuck on”.

‘Cause if we don’t like something, that’s what we should do, right? 

Instead of bleating, censoring or hiding behind a cartoon avatar.

We deserve a space in which we can be real, connect with others and share our thoughts without looking over our shoulder.

I won’t be getting too in your face with posts, newsletters (or whatever this even is!) No-one hates a bulging inbox more than I do. My aim is to write stuff you may like to read and engage with me about. I’m not out to become your new penfriend.

With that out of the way, I’m hoping you’ll stop by often in my comments so I can hook up to some of your amazing electricity. I believe it’s cheaper than my current tariff. 😉
