It’s a year since I started this Substack and I want to give thanks to those still with me, sailing this sometimes glittery, sometimes sewage ridden sea.
More and more, I am finding disillusionment in traditional social media. Only the other day, I was given a Facebook warning and had my comment removed for saying jokingly “I could strangle ’em” on a friend’s post.
Apparently, this ‘hate speech’ had been detected by a bot. *sigh*.
Even if you are someone who agrees with censorship, to apply it in this broad brush manner, with no regard to context or possible lightheartedness, seems extreme.
We are now in a position where these bots and artificial constructs are actively shaping the way we communicate with each other.
Anyone convincing themselves we still live in a world of free expression, does not fully understand the subtleties at play. A rat given an electric shock every time he takes a ‘wrong’ turn in a maze, eventually stops taking that turn, even though he may in his heart, want to. The brain is rewired.
We are, to our manipulators, nothing more than such rats, behaviour to be shaped. Jelly in a mould. Observing this for what it is, is instrumental to us collectively overriding that worrying circuit.
It still saddens me each time I hear someone fall for the old ‘Left/Right’ paradigm.
Especially if it is someone who in other ways, displays intelligence. Just why?
I always liked Stephen Hilton (composer/creator), but hearing his recent admiration for Trump, Musk n the gang, just sent me into face palm.
The same goes for all this ‘Carnivore diet’ revival I’m seeing so much of. Whilst I totally see through the ‘plant based’ push and the agenda to have us dependent on highly processed, inferior food, is the answer such an extreme backlash against Vegans and Vegetarians?
Yeah…coz to be a ‘real’ man I ’ave to eat as many animals as I can. Raw if possible. Or is that ‘ROOAARRRR!!!!!!’ Primal innit……
Just fucking grow up, you set of pretendy macho nobs.
Can people not see that it’s yet another way of turning them against one and other?
To some extent, this is happening with the trans stuff too. If people want to live in a way that suits them and it does not harm anyone, impact on safe spaces for women or kids and they don’t expect me to be on board with it (ie use their pronouns etc), then LET THEM!
I want no fight with people just going about their daily life.
Know your line in the sand but pick your battles!
It can never be ‘us and them’ because we each have our own flaws, our own triggers. Each one of us who considers ourselves ‘awake’ is still asleep to something else!
To play the ‘them and us game’ is to ignore the duality that lies in both your own soul and is repeated throughout the Universe.
We have to live amongst ‘them’ - whoever the ‘them’ of the day are - and ‘they’ with ‘us’!
Truth is a ‘Pass The Parcel’ with many layers.
He is holding it, she is holding it, ‘they’ are holding it, damn……It nearly fell right into your lap!
Sometimes you have to sit back as someone cops an embarrassing forfeit.
Sometimes you have to suck it up as they enjoy their little lollipop.
Be patient.
All will be revealed.
So, with that poundshop pearl, everyone, stay optimistic yet realistic.
Guard, yet do not be guarded.
Keep your feet on the ground and your dreams somewhere higher.
An open mind is an absorbent one!
Know that your loving heart is ALREADY changing the world!

A continual joy to be part of your gang. I’ve never embraced Facebook. I joined Twitter in 2020 because I felt in my heart things coming from MSM were not right and I saw a twit quote reproduced elsewhere which resonated so I joined to have a look. I keep with the same people and have made some good contacts and try to steer clear of the drama. It serves a purpose for me. It’s never been the same since you were canned though. Hope you’ve found a placement you feel secure about for your boy.
Well said Julie. Twitter is turning toxic with the 'awake' accounts trying to trash each other with accusations of 'shill' and 'shill gatekeeper' abounding. You're well out of it. Keep going. We love your contributions.
