Joy
Joy was a pair of goldfinches
Dust bathing on the road
One waited for the other
Before soaring into cloud
The fluttered twist of bleed and burn
Instinctual free movement
Air coated wings with purpose
And they left behind the pavement
Harmony
The bruise of ripened blossom calls
To drowsy bumble bees
The thistles sway their lilac hips
Pink open roses tease
My body hostage to the drone
I tune to meet their key
Smiles form as notes upon my lips
We blend, in harmony.
Moonwashed
A crumble of stars
Laced my lips numb with song
Resting as sequins
They glittered my tongue
Shapes and shadows were moulded
On Midsummer’s wheel
I slipped into night hands
Dream forms became real
The lean of the moon
Held me steady in stare
With green under feet
Strobe was combed through my hair
As I rocked high on lunar
Glow glazing my eyes
How I wished for my truth
To be moonwashed by lies
Ok, I didn’t actually take these photos today granted……because the weather here is shit, I won’t lie…..
But I did take them recently if that counts and I do want everyone to have a lovely last night of June.
We can pretend together, can’t we, hey?
